Though they should not have survived the Nair's poison at all, they managed to stay alive—even if they now longed for the sweet release of death. These once-wholesome beings mutated into creatures with long ears and evil thoughts. Before the Apocalypse, they possessed the purest of souls—no more.

At the height of the Apocalypse, volcanoes poured smoke, fire and noxious poisons across the face of the earth. Cities were buried under layer upon layer of lava. What no one knew until later was that, out of the fire and smoke were also born Giants. Legends say that the city people were turned into rocks, then were somehow mysteriously re-animated—but as beings much greater than they were before. The spawn of molten lava grown hard and large as any mountainside, Totor and his fellow giants have been feared by all other living creatures for their ability to inflict major damage and death on Opponents seemingly without suffering injury themselves.…But even Giants have weaknesses. They now roam the planet looking for a new place to dwell, because what remains of their cities and houses are haunted by creatures even no Giant cares to face.

They had been the lazy people of earth. The ones who lived not by the sweat of their brow, but by passing around the goods and money that others had sweated over. The traders and merchants of the planet… No one would have believed they would ever become warriors and fighters for their rights. More than money made them cast off their lethargy; made them challenge the new order and led them to battle during the dark days…or shall we call it survival instinct?

Before the Apocalypse, these Humans were the poorest and most oppressed people of the entire planet. Before the Apocalypse, they were all crammed onto a continent that contained few natural water resources. Not a person was immune to the struggle for access to water. During the Apocalypse, tsunamis inundated the land with more water than it could hold...or the vast majority of the people escape. After the Apocalypse, even those minuscule amounts of water that had once been accessible were now frozen solid. All of the houses and lands were subsumed into a devastating new world of cold and snow. Those few pitiful creatures still alive eke out their meagre existence on what are little more than icy piles of rock. After the Apocalypse, they have little to no access to water...or fire.

The only true survivors of the Apocalypse, a few Humans managed to avoid the mutations that transformed countless others into monsters. Legend says that these Humans had been the poor and the craftsmen of the Old World. They still share a common goal with those poor creatures who were mutated into dwarves and elves and hobbits: Unite and save their planet from the Dark Lord Drun'dragtar.
